We live near a well with very hard water. Consequently everything is covered with mineral deposits. Especially bad on coffee makers and pans. Read reviews, Mavea is best for hard water. I heard it works wonderfully. It's rare to buy a product that works as well as advertising. This one does. Our coffee machine runs 3-4 times longer before it needs to be descaled. I use a stainless steel kettle to heat water for a french press. Before using Mavea, my pot got white mineral deposits, a fact familiar to anyone with hard water. Since using this filter my pot has not pooled at all. For hard water with minerals, this is the best option.
