Professional disaster, gold dust all over the floorboards
I've always used expensive gold leaf imitating the Italian national, but it seemed like a good deal. If you are indoors, you will find gold dust everywhere because this material just crumbles. It looks great and I'm going to varnish it and I'm sure the varnish will last a long time. But as a professional in a luxury home, that's a disaster. It is impossible to clean and reflective gold glitter is visible throughout the wood texture. I've tapped the floor and vacuumed, but it just turns to dust.
