Review on FUKUMARU Floating Scratching Version Suitable by Sarah Murray

Frustrating and potentially unsafe. We bought lots of Fukumaru parts to build a wall for our two kittens who are now 4 months old. We love this concept and the kitties love it. Before installing we read that the included anchors were not suitable for drywall so we ordered 50lb industrial anchors, we installed them and loved them, the kitties used them with no problem and today one of the shelves literally ripped the wall off. Our kittens don't weigh 10 pounds total, the steps from the shelf are only 14 inches high. Jumping onto a shelf shouldn't cause that much stress, especially after a few weeks of use. We have just checked the steps and they are already loose and will probably be ripped off the wall next. We bought the strongest drywall anchors we could find - as you can see in the picture they were ripped completely out of the wall. To our great dismay - and the kittens' utter devastation - we're now dismantling the entire installation because we're concerned for their safety (one of our furry handymen decided that crawling to the nearest ladder would work until he realized that he couldn't go down ). 24 1" diameter holes at 8" x 6 ft. A. We do not recommend this product. Our kittens are only 4 months old - since they are still growing, we cannot in good conscience recommend this product.
