Chrome Bottle Cap with 2 Holes

, I live in a VERY cheap apartment, 38 years old (circa 1982), which I bought in 1986 when I was young and poor, but I wanted to own it, not rent it. took the clog out and found the back and bottom hem slightly holed and moldy. Decided to replace it, but most of the new caps at local stores (like HomeDepot, Ace Hardware, and Lowe's nearby) were smaller, only had one screw (not two), sold out, cheaply made, had a flipper. Levers, wrong color, very expensive, special order, etc. You'd think there's a shop 2 blocks away that would have something to match 1000's of similar old apartments and townhouses nearby when this part of town was built with all the same materials and plumbing, but they don't. So I had to shop online instead of supporting my local business (why do these chain stores do this for themselves and then complain about losing Revain sales?) This chrome bar looked nice and solid in the photos (like my old one) and it was a good price too. However, it's more like a chrome bottle cap than a cap that will last another 40+ years and is a bit small for an old ugly stained hole. in my standard fiberglass tub so I returned it. Then I also noticed that the listing doesn't show pictures of the back to show how thin the base metal is (not listed). I have found this to be somewhat deceptive on the part of the sellers and am now paranoid about buying another overflow cap online as many offers are vague on dimensions, metal thickness, no mention of long term warranties against corrosion or whether new bolts will match what are my overflow needs and will not corrode. For now I've put the old cover back on (because it was even better than the new one!) and will continue to look for a comparable new one at local stores.
