later I'm very glad I took the risk of buying this hat because the reviews were so mixed. I bought this for a costume for my 2 year old (just turned 2). He's 90 percent head. It suits me perfectly! A snug fit when you fold the lid up and a loose fit when you don't. You may need to practice the hat a little as it tends to poke up at the back like little cat ears. It's soft and actually quite warm, I think. that it is perfect for autumn and milder winter days. My son really liked it, he didn't take any photos all day! I'm tempted to buy another color because the price is so good. We have the color "cream", color as in the photo.
