The buttons can be pressed 8 to 15 times before the batteries die. I bought it on 8/20, received it on 8/25 and the 26th was my first day of using it. I am writing this on September 27th; Almost exactly 1 month later. The first set of batteries I put in them were a foreign brand so it was really annoying when they died after about half a dozen clicks, but I figured that was the reason. I then went to the store to buy new familiar batteries. It was yesterday. About 24 hours passed and the same button died again. My dogs use them to communicate with me and that particular button was the "walk" button. My dogs are both older, just to give you an idea of how many times they can click on them (in a day!). They are not puppies who just keep hitting because they have so much energy. My Great Dane has pressed the button about 6 times since yesterday. It started too early in the morning for me so we didn't go after the first 4. By the 5th press I had enough coffee so we did it. It's evening when he's usually looking for something to do, so with hope in his eyes he pressed the button again and it gave a telltale high-pitched beep, indicating this was his last 'outing'. It was number 6. With brand new batteries that we've all heard about and used. Don't waste money on them. It wasn't the first button to die in such a short time, the first being "hunger", but it was the one that got me on edge and so pissed off that I grabbed my laptop and wrote this review. I know you might be tempted to buy them because there really wasn't any other option (and the idea of your dog talking to you is too wonderful to ignore), but now they really are! I can't imagine this getting published if I mention it, but suffice it to say that if you follow the same talking dog on TikTok, FB or IG you can head over there and see what I mean. I don't even understand how these learning resource buttons are still in production. This is complete nonsense, DO NOT BUY! You'll be so mad at yourself if you do this.
