I bought these bags to keep next to the upstairs tray which my cat only uses occasionally. The description is correct - it seems that the bags do not let odors through if you tie the bags with comfortable handles. I gave them 4 stars because I can't open packages without licking my fingertips first. They are so slippery on the outside that I can't separate the front and back until I do. At first I thought I was doing something wrong but after 5 bags I realized it was the material of the bag and not me. Otherwise they are a good choice.
