I have a Samsung MU6290F series TV with a 44-key remote control. This new remote control is much better. All the basic operations are simple and easily accessible. The manual consists of half a sheet of paper with a picture of the remote control and a description of the function of each of the 13 buttons. The back of the remote control slides back and then removes to insert 2 AA batteries. If the number pad key isn't working, you can fix it in Samsung's secret factory menu. Go to "Option" - "MRT Option" - "Simple IR Remote Control" and set it to "On". This is not necessary as channel numbers can be selected more easily from the channel guide that appears at the touch of a button. The back button on this new control also toggles between the current and last channel.
