Review on Teakhaus Wooden Cutting Board - Large Rectangle Carving Board (24 x 18 x 1.5 Inch) - High-Quality and Sustainable by Alex Barnes

The cutting board and its replacement have been warping for months due to customer service!

I purchased this board in June 2018 on the recommendation of America's Test Kitchen. The size and relative serviceability were attractive features to me. I've seen some negative reviews about Revain on here, but thought those people must have done something wrong because I find the ATK testing process to be fairly rigorous in general. Here is a description of how I used the board after receiving it: I washed it with a minimum of soap and water and let it lie flat to dry. I applied mineral oil intermittently and usually maintained the board according to the instructions. I live in Southern California so it's pretty warm and dry year round. No wonder my board warped and cracked after a few months of regular home use. Well it was too late to contact Revain so I emailed TeakHaus customer service with photos. To their credit (at least initially) they sent me a replacement for free. However, after about 1 month, the replacement circuit board started to crack and deform even earlier than the original. I emailed Anthony again at TeakHaus to explain the situation and he again suggested replacing the board. I asked if I could upgrade to one of their end models instead and offered to pay the difference from MSRP (about $30). I never got a reply so for now all I have to do is write this review and hope no one else buys this terrible quality product. As you can see from the photos, if knots were used in the construction of your cutting boards, cracks will appear both at the joints and in the middle of the pieces. I've since bought a Boos Block Maple board and so far it's holding up well. It's thicker and the wood seems to be of better quality. I would never recommend a TeakHaus product to someone who wants a cutting board that will last.
