Used and defective vernier caliper
My children gave me this for my birthday. The first impression is heavily used, deep scratches on the glass are visible. Then I realized why it was sent back. As soon as the caliper is zeroed, without the slightest movement of the shoes, it immediately begins to creep up a few millimeters. Even with the caliper lying flat on the table, the numbers keep jumping a few millimeters. I'm sending it back.
