first let me say that if you don't like wasting water, you shouldn't buy this faucet. If you turn on the water and lift the handle up to turn on the shower, the shower will not stay on unless the water is raised very high. I don't like that high water pressure in the shower because it's useless and a huge waste of water. In addition, if the water pressure is not high, the faucet will make a terribly loud whistling noise. My old faucet of the same model (probably) that I replaced because the faucet broke did none of this and lasted many years. Tap, and then you have to put another. I currently use a clamp to hold up the shower and I put up with the noise that makes any shower unnerving. Not what I paid for. I'll probably give up and replace it with a better model.
