Review on πŸ’₯ InSinkErator Garbage Disposal with Cord - Badger 5 (1/2 HP) Continuous Feed by Leonard Herrera

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Easy swap for 444

We had a 444 stringing together and suddenly it was full of dishes. So much so that it leaked and 444 began draining through the emergency drain. He was almost 10 years old, so I grabbed him. It's really cool that the power cord is already connected. It shares the same mounting points as the 444 so was very easy to remove and replace with this Badger 5. Worked great, no leaks, slightly quieter than the 444. Had to remove the star because the direction COEXISTS. They spend several panels on stuff nobody needs to know about and literally pack many steps of the most important parts of the assembly into one step. If the instructions weren't so bad I would give it 5 stars. The instruction manual aside, unless it breaks sooner than expected, it deserves full credit. Note: I did not install the bracket that connects to the sink. I see reviews that the kit that comes with the kit is of poor quality. Since I used to have 444-5, I use this mount. If the included mount isn't that good, I can't figure it out. Additionally, the light fixture was professionally installed when a previous resident remodeled the kitchen a little over 10 years ago. Update: This unit worked from 2018 to 2020 when it failed just like the 444 mentioned above. I chose another brand with comparable price (also in my reviews) that also has more "hack" power.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • No machine
