Review on Arctix Youth Pants Reinforced: Large Boys' Clothing for Active Adventures by Robert Capers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good fit, good value for money

I've been wearing these pants for the second year now and have ordered the next size up for next year. I bought size XS for my 7 year old son last year and they fit perfectly. This year he was able to wear them again, although they were a bit tight in the waist and he was a bit small. He's currently 51 inches tall and weighs 65 pounds (XS barely fits, small fits better but is slightly longer). Luckily, the elastic waist straps gave him a little more room. He wears 8 in Carters, Small in Nike and Under Armour. They withstood about 3 hours of sledding including sitting on the sled covered with water. He also wore them to ski lessons (many falls and kept him dry). The Columbia pants are more flexible, but they work and fit just as well at a much lower price. We typically have 2 days of snow/ice in PNW so this price is reasonable for minimal use. I bought the adult version and although they are a bit bulky and stiff they fit and work well.

Pros
  • Reflective accents for visibility and safety in low light conditions
Cons
  • May not stay in place during intense activity
