Definitely has an advantage. I installed these pads on the front of my 2005 Dodge Ram 1 Ton and noticed an increase in stopping power. Doesn't stop the floor, but definitely enough to notice. Gives me a better sense of security when towing a load. A small compromise for these pads is brake dust. My rims start to blacken after a few days. never mind The noise probably wouldn't exist if I took the time to spray my rotors with brake cleaner and maybe sand the pads before installation. I was in a rush and skipped this step. Anyway, the only sound I hear is a little squeak as the pads heat up and I slowly roll into the light. I can comment on durability but I've done 3000 miles and feel fine.
