Review on Curt 18029 Hitch Bike Rack, Mounts on 1-1/4 and 2-Inch Receiver, Holds 2 Bicycles by John Banks

Great rack for the price

I recently took this rack on a 2900+ mile road trip on a Cobalt with a 1-1/4" hitch. We rode through all types of terrain, dirt roads, rough pavement, winding mountain roads, stop-and-go San Francisco traffic jams, and everything in between. The only issues I had were the bumpy dirt road, the bolt/ Pin in the hitch came loose causing the post to wiggle properly, also the tow bolt in the foot creaked quite loudly but that was only audible at low speeds. Also we had to put a bungee cord over it to keep bikes from snagging while riding fluctuate too much on motorways and country roads. , but that's a small problem as it won't hurt anything. This is a heavy frame and well made and a very good deal for the price it is at. The only thing I would have liked in the kit was a few more rubber straps to hold the bikes. . I haven't tried it in a 2" receiver yet, but I don't see any problems, I recommend it as a more economical option.
