Good budget gaming monitor with some flaws

I was looking for a cheap gaming monitor that met certain criteria. 1. 1080p because my video card doesn't support 1440p at 60 fps2. Free sync3. More than 85 Hz4. Curved (more desire than necessity) This monitor meets those needs. I can say that I prefer VA TN because the colors are richer and fuller than on the TN panel. I like the dynamic contrast feature. I think it looks really great when I play. I think 24 inches is the ideal size for a 1080p monitor. The curve doesn't really help in this case. Rather new. Bigger monitors are much more useful. As for the flaws, I've had several of them. At first I had trouble installing the monitor stand that came with the kit. The lower part cannot be screwed in properly for the rest of its life. Stability was so difficult to achieve. It got to the point where I decided to look for additional screws from other things to see if they worked. After trying again, I managed to get the screw it came with properly seated on the stand. Don't know if others had the same problem. What I noticed about the screw was that it looked a little different from the picture. Almost like part of the attached washer broke or something. Also, it's stable and sits well on my desk with my giant mouse pad. The second problem I ran into was getting 144Hz. I had to go into windows settings and set it to 144hz. I have 60 by default. The third issue is color calibration. Monitors are not factory calibrated. They come as they are. So you can get a great panel that looks perfect. You can also end up with something wildly uncalibrated. Mine fell in the middle. I had to tweak the windows color calibration tool a bit to get the colors that I think looked the best. The on-screen menu for adjusting colors doesn't help much, actually making things worse. The calibration process would work much better if there were public free profiles to download. I could only find one behind the paid Patreon wall. Finally, the OSD may need some improvement. Controls can be radio buttons rather than buttons. The management could explain different things on the menu. I don't use the built-in speakers; I can't say anything about the sound quality. Honestly, just invest in PC speakers. No monitor has built-in high-quality audio if that's what you're looking for. If you're looking for a budget gaming monitor with some nice features, this is a great $200 choice (at the time of this review). I think Viotek is price competitive for this market and I see them gaining market share if they continue to compete on price. They could certainly improve factory quality control and make more user-friendly improvements to their products.
