Review on ⚡ Baomain CJX2 2510 Three Normally Open Contactor: Efficient and Reliable Electrical Device by Ben Boulanger

Great shooter for the price. Works as it should

This is actually a 4 pole normally open (normally open) contactor used to control (on/off) high current devices such as motors and pumps. These devices have a high inrush current before they stabilize, so a normal/smaller relay usually can't handle it. This contactor draws 12V across the coil (the part that starts the contactor) and can handle 25A on each of the 4 poles. You can use it to control two separate 240V motors or pumps as long as they don't draw more than 25A on each pole / 120V pole. In my case I used it to control a pool pump with a WiFi control relays. This allows for automation and expansion options considering this contractor has 4 poles. For example, turning on the pool pump will also turn on the salt cell and maybe even the light, all with a single contactor. Please note that all 4 poles are open and when 120V is applied to the coil they all turn on at the same time on this unit. So L1 to T1, L2 to T2 etc. The contactor can also be tested by manually pressing the blue bar in the middle to close the contacts. This unit makes a pretty loud hum when in use and a very loud noise when turning on and off, but since mine is in a metal box against an outside wall, this isn't a problem. Also it seems to draw about 0.5A in the 120V coil circuit which seems high but I have no point of comparison with other shooters. If anyone knows, please post. Overall I am definitely very happy with the device and the price and it works exactly as expected.

Pros
  • Motor Contactors
Cons
  • Out of fashion
