The monopod itself is decent and can be extended to the advertised height. However, the base that comes with this monopod is a complete joke as it has very short, flat legs. Extending the monopod more than 3 feet will make the base unstable and probably won't even support a phone, let alone a DSLR. When you extend the monopod to a maximum height of 66 inches, forget to even use the base as it's very unstable at that height and I wouldn't risk putting my $1,000 phone on it. The product images show the monopod in an inclined position with the base attached. This is utter nonsense. The monopod CANNOT stay tilted on this small base - it will fall over even without a phone or camera. The enormous height and weight of the monopod can cause it to tip over because the legs are too short. I don't know why they decided to include such a small foot for such a large monopod. Not only are the legs flat and there are no adjustments whatsoever, the legs can only be used on a flat surface. If you need this monopod to stand alone, you MUST buy an actual tripod to serve as the legs for this monopod. I see that this monopod is only a DSLR stand if you are actually holding a DSLR in your hands. Or buy this monopod and buy a separate tripod for it. Please note that this monopod also does NOT come with a phone clip/holder, so you will need to purchase one if you want to use it with your cellphone.
