Review on πŸŒ€ Coolerguys 120x25mm 5V USB Rear Exhaust Blower Fan by Ari Tanner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Some strange "fan ".

UPDATE: Reading the reviews, it seems I'm not the only one confused by the question "which side is the fan sucking air from?". Perhaps the presence of the string "above" confused me. looks like bad design but I don't design fans. I was planning to put this fan on the top of the PC to dissipate and blow out the heat from the bottom of the fan (the PC's heat). Back of the fan (square side) and to the side. For some reason the fan pulls air from the top of the fan (or maybe top and bottom) and blows it out the back (square side). There is no heat above the fan to be moved. I call the "bottom" of the fan the floor only because the cable is there, and this is the "ugly" side (extrusions and mold marks). I will try to try. Block one side of the fan to try and get it to only draw air from the desired side. Maybe that's the solution? There are no instructions. I was hoping I didn't need instructions, but this fan is confusing. Also, the photo appears to show a thermistor (or some sort of heat-detecting sensor) in a clear shrink wrap between the end of the black wire and the start of the colored wire. The fan I received has a solid black wire from the connector to the motor. I may be wrong about the "thermal switch" idea, but I'm not wrong about my wire color. Nice features: it comes with (attachable/stick on) little rubber feet, the USB port has a pass-through USB connector so you can connect another USB device (daisy chain style) to it (not pictured). The fan moves quite a lot of air and is quiet (on the PC). In other applications I suppose some will find it noisy.
