I have to say right away that there is nothing wrong with the product. The weight is good and you won't have a problem getting good shots in the water. If you can get some good discs out of the water for $20, you'll get your investment back. it said. The utter ease that the company has put into attaching the rope to this device is unforgivable. I knew people had trouble losing these items and I understand why. The "knot" they use is actually a half knot, and if you manage not to lose the retriever the first time you roll those knots, that's a miracle. I tied the knots with a fishing knot, which works great. I actually bought a thin anchor line to replace the line provided before I received the item but when I saw what they supplied I decided to wait and see how it worked before changing it. It seems solid enough if you're not trying to keep a log. I'll keep an eye on wear and tear and maybe replace, but the rope that came with it didn't put me off. The knots they used to tie them are absolutely flawless. Too bad I didn't think to take a picture before tying it back together.
