It holds it adequately, if not perfectly, so it should still provide some insulation for the vent. Quality wise if this item would match my vent I would have to give it 5 stars. For the price it's really good quality. But Camco should include a disclaimer in their ads, both at Revain and elsewhere, that says it's not compatible with built-in fan vents.
