Review on 👗 Cute Dresses Made Easy: 25 Simple Designs for Sewing by Kim Sanchez

I already had a Japanese version of this book but I confess I really wanted an English translation (especially for template schemas since I'm not a native "metric media"!) . Dresses have a simple shape and consist of very simple pattern pieces. This is good because they allow for relatively easy resizing (so don't be intimidated by the range of sizes in the book) and are great for personalizing clothing. Mix fabrics, add embellishments like embroidery and appliques, everything works well on these shapes. To the negative commenters: I really don't understand why you give this book such a bad review. Firstly, did you look at any reviews or even online pictures of the book and the dresses before purchasing this book? I can't imagine buying a sewing book without doing at least a little research to see what the projects look like, if I even want to make them. If you're looking for better-fitting, tailored clothing, look for books that have it. The fact that you picked a book that doesn't have the clothing projects you need is neither the book nor the author. Second, if you're at least an intermediate level seamstress, it's entirely possible to resize the pattern to enlarge it (I'm on the high end of the sizing range in this book and expect to resize some of the patterns needs to change, but because the shapes are so simple). it won't be difficult). If resizing scares you, just use cheap materials and give it a try - you might be pleasantly surprised! If you don't even think about resizing, or just can't do it, I would ask, maybe an introductory sewing book is the best step to hone your skills right now? The book works. The photos are good, the patterns are well laid out and explained. I didn't encounter any errors. I think those are the criteria to use when judging a book like this. If you're not sure if this book and dress styles are for you, do some research at your local bookstore or online to get a better idea of what these dresses look like. :)
