I don't have any allergies but I live in the West and unfortunately the summer heat and wildfires are becoming a new reality. This unit is just a very good fan and HEPA filter system suitable for a large room. Consumer's Report gave it a good rating and I agree. It's quiet here and when the air quality index drops, as is happening even in my farmhouse now, it's nice that my bedroom and probably most of the house has better air quality. I'm glad I bought it. I'm sorry this is becoming a necessity. Please do your part to fight climate change and environmental degradation, our children and grandchildren need our action now.
