I purchased this for a summer trip. The sound is extremely low when trying to hear it from the external speaker and while using headphones. The only remedy, as we had no time to send it back was to buy a auxillary cord and connect it to the car. This made it louder as we were able to turn up the cars volume, the problem with this is there was a lot of feedback buzzing associated with this method. Also we wanted to be able to occupy the kids while we listened to music and books independent of hearing their movies - it made for a long trip of hearing the same shows and movies while driving 10 hours.Secondly and a much bigger problem it that a small black horizontal line began appearing across the top of the screen. The kids didn't seemed too affecting by it, but I was disappointed with the quality. The black line has gotten wider and other areas of the screen is now also getting black spots (like little pixel specs).The only thing I like about it is that it rotates 180 degrees which helps with trouble shooting problems and helps to keep my 2 year old from pushing the control buttons.We were fortunate enough to have gotten the warranty. So we will be turning it for a new one. Get the warranty is my advice!
