Review on 🔧 Timken WB000028 Wheel Bearing: Precision-engineered for Reliable Wheel Performance by David Fisher

The bearing is directional, one side is magnetized. The most reliable way to find out which side (iron, nickel, cobalt) the paper clip is sticking to. According to my bearing it was the side with the brown border. The magnetized side must match the ABS sensor. With the Mazdaspeed3, the magnetized side must face the motor. If you don't do this, some of the ABS lights in the car will come on. My stock was marked KOYO Japan which is an OEM supplier for many Japanese cars. After installation the bearing seemed to have flat spots - let's see if they go away after a few miles.
