Oh my god; it absolutely exceeded our expectations! We were at the end of our household smell rope because of four cats and the only way to cover the smell before guests arrived was to light strong candles and even smoke chips. We couldn't get rid of the smell so we had to mask it with something stronger. (I know - so cool right?) I'm a nurse, I love to have fun and I love the idea of friends and family opening the front door to a clean, healthy and welcoming home. The smell of cat pee and cheap candles made my eyes water. Now that the weather is so cold we can't open our windows to get some fresh air. It's time to act. Then there was the problem of allergies. Even though I only have parquet floors and constantly use three types of vacuum cleaners, I have to wear a dust mask in the house. I take two different types of allergy pills, as well as allergy eye drops, an allergy nasal spray, and I still need to have an inhaler handy for flare-ups. I went to an allergist for an allergy test and here's the kicker. I didn't react to cat dander the way I did to pollen and dust. It's just an old dusty house which is a real problem. So we have a double problem: cat smell combined with sneezing dust and pollen. Enter LEVOIT. We decided to do our best and run it at maximum power for a while until we can defeat those smells and dust. The device is so slim and light. At the highest level, it sounds like window air conditioners in a hotel room. We had to turn the TV volume up a bit, but that's a first world complaint. After a few hours we noticed a significant reduction in odor. In a few days. PASSED. I can not believe that. This is a Christmas miracle! It also eliminated the allergens in the air. I don't know how to describe it other than to say that the air almost feels "lighter" when you breathe it. Maybe it's because I'm no longer battling sinus congestion or reaching for my rescue inhaler. I was skeptical about this purchase and now I regret waiting so long.
