Review on 100-Pack Wilkinson Sword Classic Double Edge (DE) Razor Blades by Barber Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The right blade for me, perfect for those unfamiliar with razors DE

I've tried many other brands and types. The closest I've come to near-perfect blades is finding the expensive Vikings Blade Mild safety blades. They've recently gone up in price to $20 for a 50 pack. They were sharper and more comfortable than derby blades. Another step in the right direction, these Wilkinson swords cost half the price per blade compared to VB Milds. They cut a little better, with a little less drag and a little less comfort, but still secure enough/comfortable enough that I've pushed the razor a bit for a tighter cut and still haven't cut myself. As they cut better but are comfortable enough not to cut me I would rank them higher than the VB Milds. Keep in mind it could be my skin. Some people prefer pure stainless steel blades. Others fret about platinum-coated blades. It could just be a sensitivity to the angle at which they sharpened the edge of the blade. The coating and blade of the VB Milds and Wilkinson Sword blades harmonize very well with my skin. The Derby and Astra blades almost tear my skin when I use them even though they are made of the same materials as the blades I like. This is why sample kits exist: once you become familiar with the DE safety razor technique, you can properly compare the blades and see what works for you. However, I recommend these Wilkinson Sword blades as a good middle ground, everyone says they are good, they have an average balance of sharpness and safety, and they are made from quality materials and not the most expensive. If I had to suggest one blade for those new to safety razors, these would be it.
