I got this pump to replace a smaller pump that didn't have enough buoyancy to get 4 feet up in my 37 gallon aquarium on its stand and it works like a Dream for big water changes (40-50%). [Water changers didn't even fit my faucets with universal adapters, so I had to come up with another option.] What used to take 30 minutes or more I can cut down to 10-15 minutes with this useful tool pump. Simply attach the pump to the inner glass of the tank with a suction cup, with the rear end of the pump at the water level you wish to drain the water to, attach any adapter and hose to the pump and feed the other end Insert the hose into the pail/container, connect and empty . Swap the end of the pump and hose to fill the tank with new water. No more lifting multiple 2.5 gallon water jugs over the tank to refill. If you also plug it into a smart socket, you can easily turn it on and off when you need it. I love this pump. Now it remains to understand why to use the second. Hm.
