Well if you read the other reviews here you can see where customers say they don't notice a difference in the sound. BUT. If you have a good player and system, you will notice the difference. My system was already sounding fantastic, but as most vinyl lovers know, if your record isn't perfectly flat, sometimes the needle will vibrate, causing all sorts of sonic problems. That weight rules it out completely! I have paired this weight with the new Hudson HiFi acrylic mat and now I no longer have to cut the bass on my records which are slightly deformed. I also notice a more stable, detailed and tighter sound with my turntable. If you have ever experienced vibration from your turntable I would highly recommend this weight. I love Hudson HiFi products! Such quality products and you can really tell they are real vinyl lovers!
