I don't know if these protectors actually protect against bed bugs as luckily we didn't have to deal with them but they give me confidence our down pillows are clean. They seal very well which can be a little annoying at times - right after you put them on the pillow or when the pillow has been sitting for a while, the air in the pillow and cover will slowly be pushed out as you try to get it out. comfortable with your pillow (I tend to press down on my large feather pillow so it compresses a lot). It's something that definitely stands out, but isn't particularly bothersome. They seem to be holding up well; I haven't washed them too often, but I wash my laundry extensively and they do well.
