Good lights for the price. These lights are sufficient for my purposes. They can be too bright if you want a close-up of a small subject. I would say the best distance is 2-5 feet or about a meter or two. Filters are a nice bonus. One of the legs had a slightly curved tip that prevented the leg extension from engaging, but a minute or so with some sort of needle nose solved that minor issue. The base of the leg unscrews and the lantern can then be placed on the lantern stand. I consider it a good purchase and I am satisfied with the items.
