Review on 🔒 Enhanced Performance with WARN 61918 Premium Automatic Locking Hub by Michael Ramu

We had a 1997 KIA that had these hubs as standard equipment. After a tree fell on it, we bought a used 1998 KIA and found that the 4WD wouldn't engage when we drove it up a snowy hill. The dealer asked for $1,750 to repair the vacuum hubs. After researching on the internet I ordered these sockets. To work you need a wrench and circlip pliers. I replaced the hubs without removing the wheels by removing the caps. Both jobs took me about an hour. Then I cut a hole in each front hub cap to fit the longer mechanical locking hubs and snap them back onto the rims. The "Warn" logo is visible through the hubcaps and they look almost OE. Interestingly, the old vacuum hubs have "Warning, Made in the USA" written around the edge. The new automatic hubs with mechanical lock came with detailed instructions including pictures. The instructions show the two types of OEM hubs that may be present (vacuum or mechanical), how to remove old parts and install new parts, and how to disconnect the electrical connector from the vacuum magnet when replacing vacuum hubs since vacuum is no longer present is required. To disengage the automatic mechanical hubs, the vehicle must be pulled back approximately five feet after being placed back into two-wheel drive.
