Charges quickly, sound is clear and quite loud. I have to take my phone out of the case to attach it to the dock, but that's no deterrent. If you don't want to take your phone out of the case to dock it, then this watch isn't for you. The watch has six levels of brightness, and the lowest level is brighter than my much older watch, but I've gotten used to it and don't even notice it now. The backup battery works perfectly and keeps time even during a power outage while still keeping time, which was a pleasant surprise during a recent power outage. I highly recommend this clock radio.
