The buckle is a cheap imitation of a real military buckle. Two small metal wings attach the belt clip to the buckle. They lasted a day and then a wing folded (missing) causing the clip and buckle to fall out of the belt rendering it unusable. Prior to this failure, the roller bar that attaches the free end of the strap to the buckle was not evenly attached. This alternately resulted in slippage or significant difficulty in releasing the buckle. The fabric strap also seemed a bit flimsy to me, but at least on the day I used it, it didn't let me down.
