This brush is very hard and difficult to straighten after bending. The curl at the very tip of the brush could not be pierced by the neck of my magnificent cork decanter. It will probably be suitable for cleaning a decanter used for pouring wine. The fiber used in the brush is a short fringed foam that can be washed but not dried and used to remove moisture from some decanters. This fiber is held in place by twisting between two coated wires. As I mentioned earlier, it's not very flexible and needs to be molded close to the shape of what you're brushing to be most effective. I also think it's easy to scratch the carafe during cleaning when the fiber wears out or comes off the wire.
