The dimensions are in millimeters so it was a little awkward to convert to inches so I could use my tape measure. The measurements are so accurate that it even lists measurements as 32.5mm. In no case should it be reduced to half a millimeter. I converted it to inches, got a long decimal, rounded it up and guessed where it was on the tape measure. Luckily it worked the first time, so I don't think you need to be insanely accurate with your measurements. You don't need as many measurements in the guide either. You just need to know where a few dots are, so don't let the instructions overwhelm you. The picture didn't quite match the equipment either. I don't know if it's because the hardware changed, but it bothered me that I did something wrong. All in all, this is a high-quality device that works very well. I only suggest simplifying the diagrams in the instructions.
