Had high hopes - my new review

From my wife: I had such high hopes for these shoes! I've been looking for this style in anticipation for spring and summer but can't spend a fortune so these seemed to fit the bill. They came quickly and were packaged really well. The shoes showed no sign of wear like some others had reported. The tops of both had a lump or two but that was because of the wad of paper that was packed inside each shoe, not from any manufacturer's defect. Those rounded pieces of cardboard would probably be a better choice to help them keep their shape.Upon first inspection they seem very well made. But when I tried them on, sadly that was the only positive. I normally wear a 6.5 so that's what I ordered. I put on the right shoe and the size seemed right, but when I took a step on the carpet my big toe uncomfortably rubbed on the side and my heel slipped all the way out. Too narrow at the toe and too wide at the heel. I couldn't go a size smaller as my toes were all the way at the top as it is. I put on the left shoe and had the same problem with slipping out of the heel, but instead of my big toe rubbing the side the round part underneath it was being dug into by a stiff piece of fabric. The memory foam inside was ok but underwhelming. I tried them on with socks, hoping that would fix the heel problem, but it made the toe area even narrower and my heels still slipped albeit not quite as bad. Even if the heel areas weren't a problem, the rubbing on my right big toe and side of my left foot made them uncomfortable enough to not be able to walk in them even across the room let alone out in the real world, so unfortunately these will go back and my search will continue.

Pros
  • Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry
Cons
  • The shoes do not have enough grip for activities like skateboarding
