I wasn't sure what size to order so I ordered the large and medium because there was free return shipping. First I bought big ones, washed them and put them on; they liked it very much. The medium ones arrived today and I like them even better, but since I've already washed the large ones, I'm keeping them too. big hips and butt. I run a size 6 to 14 depending on the brand, but for most brands I usually run an 8 or 10. The medium size of these shorts gave me a snug fit - similar to the model in the product photo but slightly looser around the Hips than the skinny fit shown in the photo. The plus size gave me a slightly roomy fit. I prefer the trimmer because I feel like the extra fabric makes me look taller, but as I mentioned above I will keep the large ones and wear them as well. I often find that my pants "rip" at the waist due to my large hips, but the medium ones fit perfectly at the waist. I can even remove the top if I can. The big gains don't fall off if I don't use a drawstring, but I have to use it to keep the shorts in the waist. They are very comfortable and fit perfectly (I washed them in cold water and hung them to dry). I bought these for casual shorts but was very happy that they were structured to allow me to wear them in public as well. A few months ago I bought the Women's Jockey Boxer Shorts and the Women's Champion Jersey Shorts but they were too short. and thin to wear outside the home. I prefer these shorts.
