Sometimes Cheap is Fine

When I bought this pair of pillows, I kept my expectations low. I moved a few months ago, and needed a new pillow anyway. I'd been sleeping with a very comfortable memory foam pillow, but it gave me neck aches, and I knew I had to go back to a feather pillow.I've used one for a couple months and no pin feathers coming out. A long time ago, a bedding sales person advised me to "chunk" my feather pillows to keep them fluffy. The technique is to hold the pillow at waist level, and with a little force, drop it to the floor. I do this instead of fluffing, and it works like a charm. If you're reading this, you might be like me. I found a fabulous and expensive down pillow many years ago, and it held up for much longer than I expected. It was worth the money, but when I tried to find a replacement, I was unhappy, even though I spent quite a bit on the replacement. I was so dissatisfied, I left that pillow behind and determined to find a new one after I'd moved. I searched for hours and hours online and in stores trying to find a comfortable pillow, and read hundreds of reviews.Bed pillows are very personal choices. My husband won't use my pillow and I won't use his. I don't think Americans are so spoiled we're too picky. I think we need good sleep and proper support that suits our bodies, and that's why it's so hard to find a pillow that's a great fit for you.So after spending all that time looking, I decided to play it cheap, but still feather, reckoning if the pillows didn't work on the bed, I could still use them as throw pillows. And to my surprise, I find the product quite comfortable for me. It could use just a squoosh more feathers for perfect results for me. But it is honestly far superior to that Wamsutta down pillow I had back home. Pity, that. I'm a die-hard Wamsutta fan, but that pillow was awful, and cost $150. The quality for this price point is outstanding. And at this price, it's worth giving a shot to see if it works for you.

Pros
  • and great price
Cons
  • May not offer sufficient comfort for side sleepers
