Normally an optical snoot costs $250-$300. When I saw this one on sale for $149 I was skeptical about its quality. I'm a product photographer and I took a test shot with this optical assembly using Canon L-series lenses on a device with the assembly. When setting focus on a muzzle mounted lens you sometimes get an odd pattern which I believe is the result of poor quality glass being muzzle mounted. See for example the attached image. Sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't. It all depends on the focus of the lens attached to the snow. I didn't want to risk ruining the recording so I sent the snood back to Revane the same day.
