The instructions don't say there is a plug in the broom hole where you have to screw the handle on. It must be removed before the handle can be screwed in. Then when you have everything together, the rotating part of the dustpan that holds the handle will not stand up whether the broom is in the handle holder or not. It folds to one side or the other and doesn't snap into place like my OXO version. The handle portion of the dust collector is also very flimsy and doesn't look like it will last very long, even when it snaps into place. When assembling, you need to figure out which parts go to the brush and which parts go to the dustpan. The parts are not labeled, although the diagram shows each part has a corresponding number.
