This is a much better upgrade than I expected when looking for a flameless candle replacement. My old ones had to be turned on and off manually. This set of 3 comes with a remote control and a timer function. The old one will stay on all night until I turn it off, but with this one you just hold down the buttons on the remote for as long as they stay on. So if you turn on the candles at 12:00 and set a 4 hour timer, they will go out at 4:00 but the kicker will turn on again 24 hours after you set the timer (12:00 in this one Example). . Finally, that flickering flame is incredible. My old one only had a small lightbulb that randomly flickered like a flame. The design of the candle was as if the center had melted but the outside of the candle remained intact. This allows you to see the light from the bulb without actually seeing the bulb. The design here is as if the whole candle has melted except for the side which looks like a real candle and this design features this beautiful flickering flame which I would find hard to believe was fake if I didn't know . . was. Highly recommended! hp It's real wax. Don't put it anywhere hot.
