This is a normal pump. I have a 75 gallon Fowler installed in my sump with the return pump. The pump failed after about 6 months. It started locking up and even tripped my switch after I cleaned it well and tried again. If my system wasn't already set up for this pump I would probably look for another brand to replace it. Since my main return pump failed, I ordered another one through Amazon for a quick replacement. If I didn't have a basic membership with free and fast shipping, I would order them elsewhere for a cheaper price. The pump has been running for a month and a half, no problems so far.
