Review on πŸ“ž VTECH IS8151-4: Super Long Range Cordless Phone with Answering Machine, Call Blocking, Bluetooth - 4 Handsets, 2300 ft Range by Amanda Harrell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Notes: Landline

First, note that there is no speakerphone button on the base station, only on the handsets. I prefer the speakerphone function on the base before using the speakerphone to, for example, discuss documents or gather with other people during a call rather than just laying the phone on a table or desk. (My fault - I should have read the product description more carefully, but I suspect the speaker button on the base was a fairly standard feature.) Secondly, you can't use it in conjunction with other phones plugged into a different wall outlets. If for some reason another family member tries to join the conversation by picking up another phone (e.g. Panasonic or ATT) connected to the same line in a different part of the house, the microphone will become the one you are using VTECH phone muted. . The VTECH representative explained that this was due to voltage and recommended using the entire VTECH system (up to 12 phones) as the only phone system in the house. My previous Panasonic phone didn't do this and didn't bother anyone who was also using the ATT plugin to join a call). Thirdly, the Smart Call Blocker feature doesn't allow you to block all calls of a certain type (e.g. all international or all VOIP calls) or entire area codes, like e.g. B. the standalone landline call blocker I use (CPR 1000). A VTECH representative confirmed that its Smart Call Blocker feature has not yet been implemented.
