This product contains unspecified microbes and natural antimicrobial zeolite to reduce litter odour. I have several cats and we have a litter box in our living room which I try to minimize the smell of because that's the one we have the most. Even if you clean it once a day, the spatula retains the smell even in a closed box. These are small bags of Ziploc powder that you sprinkle onto the filler. They say there is no need to mix since your kittens will do it for you. This product is really good at deodorizing a closed box. Of course, if you put your head in it will smell, but sitting next to it - no. That doesn't mean you can neglect the junk. If you don't clean regularly, it still smells. I use clumping litter so we don't throw the litter away regularly so the product lasts longer. Of course, if you don't use clumping litter and don't throw it away often, dumping a bag all over the litter won't do the trick. I guess I can't offer any advice because I have no idea how well it will work with this type of filler. I'm fine, even if it doesn't really last 30 days. Even with daily cleaning and the occasional addition of filler, I don't get out of the pack for more than 3 weeks. However, they are very expensive. $20 for 3 packs for a maximum of 3 weeks each is definitely too expensive for most. Especially if you put it in multiple compartments. Luckily we really only need it for the one in our family room so it can be managed. If they lowered the price by a few dollars I would buy it in bulk.
