I have an elderly cat who has a lot of health problems. As he got older, he became more demanding of his tray. I am currently using an 'auto' tablet which should last 30 days. This seems to change the scent into something he will use more often. (Wet spots remain around the house). The cost seems a bit high, but another reader suggested using less of a pack at a time. that could be a good compromise.

We don't store our litter for 30 days so I can't confirm it works for that period. It seems to be effective in fighting odors for the most part. I suspect it also depends on the type and amount of litter you use as well as the number of pets in the house. Comparing the cost of adding this to my fountain pen, I'm not sure if I'll keep buying it or just buy a fountain pen with these types of additions or features already included.

I always use unscented clumping litter for my cats. I scoop at least twice a day because my brat kitten Mr. Buddy Nebble (who's self-proclaimed the official garbage cop - he's the Felix Unger of cats) is waiting for me to clean the box for your stinkiest deposit. I put the bag in a new box, the first two days there was no smell or anything but that's typical for me because it mostly takes several days of the box to smell. I use clumping litter and rake it out once a day. On day 3 I smelled slightly like urine so I don't think this deodorant really did anything.
