Review on Sally Hansen Beauty Tools Ingrown by Roxanne Medina

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Two problems. totally flat/straight blades and crappy spring.

I had high hopes for this. It feels like a cheap copy of my other Sally Hansen wire cutters. At first it was not clear that it was a completely straight blade. I don't remember seeing it in the description but it's there now so maybe it's me. But who uses a straight blade to cut toenails?! More disappointing is the awful spring design. This is cheap bent wire. Why cheap? Well, for one, it's not even bent straight/equal length on either side, so the springs don't align properly with the opposite handle. The bigger disappointment is what angle they chose, if that spring is pushed forward even a little bit, it blocks the knives from closing instead of opening them. I ***keep*** pushing the pen back in. I'm almost ready to take some tape and tape the bottom piece inside to hold it in place. Of course I can't close them for storage, but at least I can use them! This is in stark contrast to other Sally Hansen wire cutters I've used in the past that didn't just have great springs. but even the curved handles make them an absolute delight, which is why I felt they were (should be) much better quality than any other brand. Then it happened. But hey. They're sharp and they really work, and having them when you need them is better than resorting to something like wire cutters! Still. a little QC would go a long way here. These sources are incredible.
