I bought this hoping I could dim the LED strip I used for the vanity mirror I fitted, lighting powered by the HC-SR501 PIR sensor is controlled when you step forward from mirror. I was not disappointed. Pretty simple, I just need a transistor and a relay to pass +12V to the dimmer trigger when the sensor signal goes high. Using an on-off-on (SPDT) switch and a second relay, I simply activated a second circuit that bypasses the sensor and dimmer, allowing the mirror lighting to be set to always on, always off, or by the sensor is activated. Incidentally, I used a standard 12V outlet to power everything. I can't think of anything I don't like about the dimmer, it's clearly labeled so anyone with a basic knowledge of electricity should have no problem using it.
