later Living in Texas I figured I wouldn't need this item at all. It turns out that latest "arctic blast" proved me wrong! It was down to -7 degrees Fahrenheit in the desert! I had a previous Camco hose (which is just as cool, just not heated) and it froze instantly, causing my inlet to crack and freeze through my RV's plumbing and storage tanks. Luckily I was hooked up to shore power and my water heater kept everything from freezing but I couldn't fill it with water so we had to top up the water manually for a day or two. I ordered it while waiting for the pole front but lo and behold it arrived the day after launch and I was in the process of moving out of my old house so I couldn't hook it up. Since the input was frozen, I couldn't connect it from there either! I had to wait two more days! But when it was finished, I hooked up this guy and solved my problems right away. The warm water from the faucet got into my inlet (which is now leaking because it's cracked but still filling my tank) and keeps the entire system from freezing. Two problems solved with one purchase! Definitely helped during "wave 2" of the cold front which started a day later and got 5 to 6 inches of snow overnight! Went outside to check and there was a huge crevice of melted snow with an unfrozen inner tube in it. I found it pretty funny. That is a high price, but without it we would be so unhappy! Definitely a keeper, I would recommend.
