Enliven your outdoor life with this 100w 12v solar powered Renogy case

We've been living in an RV for a little over a year, traveling across North America and seeing all the wonderful wilderness we can reach in our five-wheel motorhome. Up until a month ago we mainly relied on our 3400w generator to charge our batteries and turn on the lights. I originally thought about getting one of these solar cases, but wanted to equip the camper with a full solar pack during our second winter and initially decided to just use the generator until then. Well, after long, dry summer camping in remote locations, I quickly got tired of leaving the generator running just to charge the batteries. So we decided to take another look at installing a solar suitcase. I found a few cheaper options but settled on a 100w Renogy 100w 12v monocrystalline portable solar case with a waterproof voyager charge controller. At this point I really wish we had bought something like this in advance. When we first connected it to our dead batteries, it took them about three days to reach full capacity. However, since then we've camped for weeks with our phones, flashlights, fans and all the other typical 12 volt systems you might find in an RV and this solar powered suitcase has charged our batteries to the point where we only need it Generator power for powerful appliances like hair dryer, microwave, instant pot, etc. What do we like? The product is quite light at just under 30 pounds and has a durable padded carry case to protect it. It comes with a large cable with MC4 cable connectors and an additional set of alligator clips that can be connected directly to the battery. I personally love being able to plug it into the MC4 sockets on top of the van (pictured in this review) for an extra sense of security while our rig is parked. While shopping we've found some cheaper solar cases with waterproof charge controllers, and this particular one is waterproof so I don't have to run to the roof every time I see storm clouds gathering. Installation was as simple as opening the case, folding over the panels, and connecting the cables/alligator clips to the battery. Then simply select the type of battery you want to charge on the charge controller (Gel, Sealed, Lithium and Flooded) and let the system do its job! Overall, it has solid build quality, a sturdy frame, and foldable legs that help position the panels perpendicular to the sun to capture maximum sunlight.
